Application and Removal

All our sets come with a free application kit, consisting of: Nail Glue, Sticky Tabs, File, Cuticle Stick and Alcohol Wipes.

Application Tips

  1. Trim and file nails to a short length.
  2. Push back cuticles with cuticle stick. Remove cuticles if desired.
  3. Buff nail lightly with file to create a slightly rough texture on the surface of the nail. (This gives the adhesive more to grip to.)
  4. All our nails are pre-etched underneath so they don't require buffing, but you can buff them to create more texture if you prefer.
  5. Thoroughly wipe your nail and the underside of the press on nails with the alcohol wipes provided. (This removes any oils and dust from the surface of the nail that would prevent strong adhesion.)
  6. Apply your glue of choice.

For nail glue:- Apply a small amount of glue to the surface of your nail and spread it over the nail, making sure not to leave gaps. Then apply a small amount of glue to the press on.  Then, holding the press on at a 45 degree angle, apply the press on to the nail, gently sliding the nail back towards the cuticle before slowly laying the nail down. (This prevents major gapping at the cuticle and helps prevent air bubbles forming under the nail.)  Squeeze the press on onto your nail for about 20-30 seconds, or until the glue has dried completely.  Any overspill of glue can either be wiped away before it dries, or can be removed with a little acetone on a cotton bud.

For sticky tabs:- Choose a tab similar in size to your nail.  Appy the tab to your nail and peel of the backing.  Then apply your press on.  Squeeze the press on onto your nail for around 10-20 seconds.  Avoid getting your nails wet for at least 2 hours after application to prevent early lifting.  For extra security, you can use a hairdryer to warm up the sticky tab while it is on your nail, before you apply the press on.  This will cause the glue to melt a little and make it extra sticky.  Please be careful not to burn yourself.

  • Finish off with some cuticle oil and some hand cream.

Important Note: Please never use a UV Curing glue, like Gel X Glue, with pre-painted press ons.  The UV cannot penetrate the nail properly and will cause some of the glue to remain uncured.  This can lead to an allergic reaction.

Removal Tips

The best way to remove any set of press ons is to wear them until they start to lift and loosen themselves, this will allow for much faster and easier removal and will result in less damage.  If you have to remove your nails early while they are still securely attached please go slowly and gently, and most of all be patient, to prevent damage to the nail.

For removal of nails using sticky tabs:-  Soak your nails in warm, soapy water (you can also add a little oil to this to help break down the glue).  This will cause the glue to soften.  Using a cuticle stick, gently and slowly start to lift the press ons at their edges.  Do not try to pull them straight off, go slowly.  Lift little by little at the edges, allowing the warm, soapy water to get under the press ons and melt the glue.  Eventually, as you're doing this, the nail will naturally pop off.  You can clean any remaining glue residue off your nails using soap and water, or rubbing alcohol.  Moisturise your hands and nails afterwards.

For removal of nails using nail glue:- The ideal way to remove these would be using a glue remover/ debonder as this will break down the glue without affecting your nail or the press on.  However, if you do not have a glue remover, you can use a similar method to the one above for sticky tabs.  But this time, definitely add oil to the soap and water mix, and also rub oil into the edges of the nails to help break down the glue.  When lifting the nails at the edges make sure to get oil under the nails.  Go slow, and be patient as it will take a while.  Any glue residue on your own nails can either be removed with acetone, or buffed off with a nail file.  Any glue residue on the back of the press on can be buffed off with a nail file.  Moisturise your hands and nails afterwards.
